Literary analyses of the construction of cultural identities

As struggles and wars over the right to 'cultural identity' in the 'sovereign state' are once again part of daily politics, we ask anew about the meaning of the underlying ideas of order and distinguish answers as given by German-speaking authors in recent works.
We want to familiarise ourselves with five of their works.

This course is for advanced learners. In this course short feature films and short animated films are watched, analysed cinematically and used as an occasion to speak and discuss. The aim is to expand your vocabulary on the respective topics of each film, to understand and describe images and situations in the films, to speak and write about the topic of the films and, if necessary, to creatively further develop topics of the films.
