© Ioana Moldovan Ioana Moldovan is a freelance documentary photographer, writer and published author based in Bucharest, Romania.
Her work has been published by The New York Times, BBC, Der Spiegel, ESPN, Al Jazeera English, Huffington Post, Libération, Deutsche Welle, Radio France Internationale, Decât O Revista, Dilema Veche and Vice among others. Her photos have been showcased in numerous national and international exhibitions, have illustrated books, were shown in theatre shows and won several awards.
In 2016, at the Eddie Adams Workshop, Ioana Moldovan was awarded The Bill Eppridge Memorial Award for Excellence and Truth in Photographic Journalism. That same year, The U.S. Embassy in Bucharest presented her with the “Women of courage” award for outstanding achievement in highlighting truth through photojournalism. She is also a Missouri Photo Workshop and VII Academy alumnus.
