DIGITAL SERVICE FOR INTERNATIONAL GUESTS AT THE BERLINER THEATERTREFFEN
Welcome to the "International Lounge" - An accompaniment to the Berliner Theatertreffen 2021 in the digital space
This year, for the second time during the pandemic, one of the most important theater events in Germany, the Berliner Theatertreffen, will take place digitally.
From May 13th-24th, 2021, the festival will show all ten productions selected for the Theatertreffen, an extensive supporting and discourse program, as well as the Stückemarkt, free of charge and worldwide on the online platform of the Berliner Festspiele. All productions are subtitled in English, and most of the supporting program will be offered with simultaneous English translation.
In order to enable the international audience to engage in direct dialogue on the current topics of the theater scenes in the German-speaking world and on the Theatertreffen in lockdown times, the Goethe-Institut Visitor Program has set up an "International Lounge" in cooperation with the Department of Theater/Dance. On five consecutive dates during the Theatertreffen, international theater experts are cordially invited to exchange views in English in discussion groups moderated by the Visitor Program staff, where they can contribute with their questions, perspectives and experiences.
