About the game

In 2021 Henrike and fellow creatives set out to challenge and develop their creative practice by creating 12 games in 12 months – 12in12. At the beginning of the month everyone would declare their intention for what they were hoping to achieve. At the end of the month they would gather again for reflection, present what they did and discuss what they learned. The end product, 12in12, is an ensemble of mini games: Good Boi, a puppy tamagotchi made with Clayxels; Code Red, a simplified model of the ovarian reproductive system; Clean, a Twine game without text where you can wash your hands; Sangwich, where the player makes themselves a sandwich with ProBuilder and Unity, because some say that “a woman's place is in the kitchen”; Nyumbani, a wholesome dollhouse simulation where the player gets to move furniture into a house; Transit, a text adventure in the literal sense, documenting a part of the journey of moving from Copenhagen, Denmark to Johannesburg, South Africa; Gramana, a relaxing anagram word puzzle; Lights Out, a Twine puzzle game about having no electricity and finding things in the darkness; Roadtrip, a dialogue-based adventure about our first cross country roadtrip as a family; isiBheqe Translator, a translator between isiZulu, the international phonetic alphabet, and isiBheqe; Telepotato, a tiny teleportation metroidvania; and Conversation, a typing Twine game about two people and a long day.
