POETRY READING WITH JAN WAGNER
Literature|Jan Wagner is presently poet-in-residence at the Goethe-Institut Hanoi.

During the European Literature Days he presented his poetry together with his Vietnamese translator Thài Kim Lam and the traditional music ensemble Nhóm Đông Kinh Cổ Nhạc.
At the end of his stay in Hanoi Jan Wagner will read from collection of poems titled „Regentonnenvariationen“ (English title: variations of rain barrels), for which he won the prize at Leipzig Book Fair 2015. Our audience can look forward to new German poetry and an immediate encounter with the author.

Jan Wagner, born in 1971, is considered by some as the best poet of his generation und one of the strongest voices of the German-speaking contemporary literature. He is a member of the German Academy for Language and Poetry, the Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts, the Academy of Science and Literature Mainz, the Free Academy of Arts Hamburg as well as of the P.E.N. Centre Germany.
