Teacher training in the provinces
Alternating with the German Teachers' Conference, short teacher training courses are held in four South African provinces: Gauteng, Free State, KwaZulu Natal and the Western Cape. In order to reach German teachers locally and to provide them with further methodological and didactic training, qualified teachers from primary, secondary and tertiary education who have been trained by the Goethe-Institut as multipliers conduct the workshops independently in the provinces.
In the teaching team, the multipliers impart subject didactic content as well as new methods for varied German lessons. The content of the training focuses on learner-activating and action-oriented topics. Special emphasis is placed on the needs of the teachers; what is suitable for immediate use in class, which methods suit my learners and which materials can I use directly after the training?
