Goethe & Partners: Open Call 'THE DATA AND THE SOVEREIGN'

Projekt Atol (Slovenia), Goethe-Institut (Germany), Izolyatsia (Ukraine), MeetFactory (Czech Republic) and Tallinn Art Hall (Estonia) are jointly calling for art practitioners to apply for one of eight production residencies taking place in Ljubljana, Prague, Tallinn and Kyiv (online). The DATAS Residency Programme invites artists to explore the intersection of art, technology, and sovereignty, emphasizing the role of computation and AI in reshaping politics and personal autonomy.

Topics:
• How do technology and AI impact sovereignty?
• How can art engage with digital power structures?

What is Offered?
• A fully funded 2–3-month creative residency
• Support: €1000/month + up to €3000 for production costs
• Collaboration with curators, theorists, and scientists
• The results of the residency project will be presented at the hosting institutions through temporary exhibitions and discursive events
• The program will culminate in a joint final exhibition at Galerie Rudolfinum in Prague

Who can Apply?
Applicants must be born in, have long-term residency in, or hold nationality from one of the following countries: Albania, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, or Ukraine.
