KINO! Film Salon is a monthly online film club to discuss German film.
How it works: Each month we choose a German film or series currently available to stream on U.S. platforms, watch it independently, and come together for a hosted conversation with other fans of German film.
In our October session we will discuss Wood and Water, Jonas Bak’s “elegant feature debut about modern alienation” (New York Times). U.S. participants can stream the film on Prime Video and the Criterion Channel.

Jonas Bak’s deceptively minimalist debut is a quietly rapturous meditation on the nature of personal freedom and the embrace of change. Featuring Bak’s own mother as the mesmerizing lead pursuing liberty in her golden years, this delicate film unfolds with grace and patience. Wood and Water dares to consider the risks we're willing to take as time begins to tighten its grip.

Hosted by Jim Kolmar

KINO! Film Salon is a production of Telescope Film, in partnership with the German Film Office.
