Second Heritage Film Festival in Abu Dhabi

This February, the Goethe-Institut Gulf Region will be organizing the second Heritage Film Festival under the title "The Young & the Old". This open-air film festival will take place from 22 to 25 February 2012 at the Heritage Village .We will be screening selected Emirati, German and Swiss films.
After opening the event with a music and movie night, we will be screening short films and feature films on the relationship between generations in different cultures during the following three evenings. This unique blend of Arab and European films has been put together by the curators, Ali Al Jabri and Philip Bräuer. After each screening, film directors and experts on film will engage in a discussion and answer questions by the audience.
Heritage Film Festival Workshop for students
As in 2011, the discussions with experts will be moderated by students who will be accompanying the audience throughout the evenings. Students of the Higher Colleges of Technology and the Zayed University will therefore have the opportunity to actively participate in the festival. A four-day workshop with the German expert, Till Brockmann, will prepare them for this task. The best student group will be chosen by a jury and will be awarded at the end of the festival.Heritage Film Festival Mobile Phone Video Competition
As part of the festival, the Heritage Film Festival Mobile Phone Video Competition has been launched. Information on the terms and conditions you can find under tips. Films can be uploaded on this website until 21 April 2012. You can watch the uploaded films, write comments and vote for your favorite one.The Heritage Film Festival is organized by the Goethe-Institut Gulf Region in close cooperation with the German Embassy, the Swiss Embassy, Abu Dhabi Film Festival, the Emirates Heritage Club, Abu Dhabi Film Commission, the Higher Colleges of Technology and the Zayed University Abu Dhabi.
