For all German learners

Individual and group grants

For Teachers

Are you a German teacher in the UK and would like to improve your German language skills? Apply for a scholarship for a language course at the Goethe-Institut London, Glasgow or for an online language course. Applications for a language course scholarship can be submitted all year round.

Deutsch Lehren Lernen® (DLL) is the Goethe-Institut’s practical continuing education and professional development series for DaF and DaZ teachers of German (primary, secondary, and adult education). When registering for a DLL course, you can apply for a scholarship to cover the registration fee. Please contact us via email to learn more.

Each German language learner has different needs and wants when it comes to their learning pace, time commitment and goals. This is the reason we developed the German Online Training: A teach-yourself package that provides you with flexibility in terms of your time commitment and allows you to learn at your own pace. All with the proven quality of the Goethe-Institut.

This opportunity is fully funded and aimed at non- specialist primary teachers and their headteachers (England/ state school  only), who intend to introduce German or  strengthen the status of German at their schools. The programme consists of two strands:  A combined language and pedagogical training course (A1/A2level) and a specially curated incentive trip. Participants can apply for this fully funded course by submitting a motivational letter (application deadline: 04.03.2024).
