1975- 2008 Studied Egyptology, German philology and prehistoric archaeology in Leipzig, Halle/Saale and Bremen

Has been teaching ancient Egyptian language and history for over ten years at the University in Leipzig and Friedrich-Schiller University in Jena

Scientific interests include gender-related issues

Works as a freelance author and photographer

2008 First literary publication the novel 'Game spoiler'

2011 Established the Seschat correspondence school of Egyptology

2013 Member and Godmother to the project "School without racism - School with courage"

"Gustav-Heinemann Peace Prize" for child and youth books for the work 'Kinshasa Dreams'

2014 "Friedrich-Gerstäcker Prize" from the city of Braunschweig for 'Kinshasa Dreams'
