1972 born in Potsdam


grew up in East Berlin

1991 - 1992 studied languages in Perugia / Italy

1992 - 1998 studied in Berlin and London; subjects: East-European Studies, Media Studies and Politcal Science; during her studies she went on a number of trips to Russia

from 1997 free-lance journalist for the Tageszeitung, the Berliner Zeitung and the Tagesspiegel

1998 - 2005 reporter for the Tagesspiegel in Berlin, texts for Die Zeit and Geo

2000 Alexander-Rhomberg-Prize for young journalists

2001 Axel-Springer-Prize; Theodor-Wolff-Prize

from 2005 journalist for Die Zeit

lives in Berlin
