Gulf German Film Festival

In the fall of 2020, film lovers will see the first edition of the GULF GERMAN FILM FESTIVAL. Screening groundbreaking new German language movies, ranging from art-house films to box-office hits, and from children’s matinees to late-night movies, this star-studded event invites an audience of all stripes.

NEXT STOP: GERMANY

Summer means travelling. Due to the special circumstances this year, we invite you to explore Germany through the movies. In cooperation with Cinema Akil, Dubai, we are showing a series of film classics from September 4 to October 1, 2020, which deal with the topic of “travel” in very different ways.

EU 2020

Germany will take on the European Council Presidency from 1 July to 31 December. We ask, what constitutes Europe? In the future how do we want to live in Europe? What issues do we want to advance across Europe?

Building Beats – DJ-ing and Music Production Workshop

The dynamism and innovation of the electro scenes in Berlin and Paris need no introduction. In a workshop in December 2019 artists from France and Germany shared their talent and technique with youth and adults devoted to the discovery of electronic music production and DJing. Brought to you by Warehouse421, the German Embassy, the Goethe-Institute and the French Institute of the UAE and curated by Your Mom’s Agency.

Tolerance

Under the Patronage of H.E. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance of the United Arab Emirates, in celebration of the “Year of Tolerance 2019”, the German Embassy in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut show a series of films revolving around different aspects of tolerance. Enjoy with us some interesting documentaries, feature films and comedies.

The project Books – Made in UAE supports the development of a sustainable local children’s book industry by training young and aspiring authors and illustrators in the creative process of producing children’s books in Emirati Arabic language.
