Goethe-Institut Australia, in co-operation with education authorities and teacher associations/networks, offers training and professional learning seminars for teachers and future teachers of German in all states of Australia.
These events are designed to provide teachers with fresh ideas and practical advice for their lessons. Topics covered include:

  • classroom/teaching resources
  • socio-cultural information about Germany
  • language refreshers
  • teaching methods
  • use of electronic media in language teaching

Professional Learning on methods and ideas for digital classroom

These compact and convenient online professional learning units are aimed at teachers of German in Australia who are short of time and are looking for new ideas and effective methods for their classes. Educators from Europe and Australia share their expertise and experience with digital content in short 60-minute sessions via Zoom. Simply pick and choose topics relevant for you, register for free and dial in from anywhere to expand your ideas and methods toolkit for the digital classroom.

GETVICO24 goes global!

GETVICO 24 is a virtual German teacher conference. 24 hours dedicated to teaching German around the world. We will start on 21 October 2020 (AEST).

Young Teachers Network and Award

The Goethe-Institut network has been created to support new teachers of German by providing advice, mentoring, professional learning opportunities, teaching materials, and platforms for personal and virtual exchange. The winner of the Young Teacher Award will attend a professional learning course in Germany in 2021.

Kinderuni in the German Classroom. Online Workshop for Year 3-6 Teachers

In this online workshop Year 3-6 teachers will find out how to integrage the resources provided by the Kinderuni online learning platform into their lessons. In addition, links to the Australian Curriculum will be highlighted.
