Goethe-Institut的所有考试中，用于书面考试成绩评分的是自2006年8月以来规定使用的正字法形式。其基础是“杜登德语正字法” „DUDEN. Die deutsche Rechtschreibung“（2006年第24版起）以及“WHAHRIG德语正字法” „WAHRIG. Die deutsche Rechtschreibung“（2006年起）。
das Goethe-Zertifikat C2: Zentrale Oberstufenprüfung (ZOP), das Kleine Deutsche Sprachdiplom (KDS) 以及 das Große Deutsche Sprachdiplom (GDS) 的证书在引入新的Goethe-Zertifikat C2: Großes Deutsches Sprachdiplom 考试之后，以及从2012年1月1日起C2水平考试转换之后都保持有效。
