The Edge
Zweiland (Twin Lands) premiered in Berlin in 1997 and was re-staged as a highlight in this years "Europe meets Asia in Contemporary Dance??? festival in Hanoi, 1 to 4 October 2015. In this work Sasha Waltz interweaves poetic images from German mythology against a score that traverses different centuries. With humour and melancholy, the choreographer deals with the recent German history: "Being a divided country reunited but still with different attitudes and dreams, I have looked into our common history that was actually longer than the time of separation. (???)This portrait finds endless associations in other cultures and many people can relate to these colorful and poetic, sometimes sad but also comical daily situations.???Hanoi dance festival
