This project’s idea targets artists of visual art, Arabic calligraphers and the Yemeni and Hadrami community. The trainings in visual art, the set-up of art exhibitions as well as seminars and workshops will increase the intention of art and artists in the region.
 

This project aims to popularize the culture, heritage, customs, and traditions of Aden city in artistic and innovative ways. Artists will be brought together and encouraged to create comics connected to Aden city in order to publish a comic magazine as the cultural gateway between the diverse traditions of Aden city and its citizens.

During this project the Line Creative Studio produces a cartoon series which enlightens the Yemeni archeology and its legends in an entertaining way for our generation and thus maintains the connection between the Yemenites and their cultural heritage and its valuable history.

In order to reanimate the music instrument Qanbous, this project organizes a digital training to teach Yemeni and foreign musicians to play this instrument. Furthermore, a documentary and a guide will preserve the knowledge of this instrument’s production process and its components.

In this project the author and illustrator Fatima Alkhathiri creates three children’s books dealing with the difficulties of displacement of Yemeni children within the armed conflict as well as the discrimination based on ethnic belonging or sex.

This interactive vocal documentation project “Menkam” (classic Arabic name for hourglass) does its research on the cultural and social background as well as the relation between Yemeni artists and musicians in order to close the gap in the feminist music history of Yemen and distribute the knowledge to researchers and interested parties on podcast platforms.

The main aim of this project is the encouragement of the cultural and musical movement in Yemen. Young aspiring artists receive the chance to participate in a monitoring program, gain new artistic experiences and become a member of the Al-Numan band.

This project wants to document the life of cultural agents in Sana’a in their creative sets. It focuses on the creation process of two Yemini artists. Their stories in different stages in their cultural life will be collocated with images and storytelling and will eventually result in a book.

This project seeks to train aspiring artists in cultural management and the organization of exhibitions. In cooperation with the foundation “Aden Again”, the artists will organize exhibitions in the fields visual art, photography and graphic design to form a relation between culture and history.

In this project 30 folk stories from Socrota will be collected, revised and made available in Arabic a new database for cultural agents. It creates a resource of creativity with the potential of expansion through cultural cooperations in Socotra, Mahra and other regions in Yemen in the future.

In this 10-day workshop in Sana’a, 10 trainees will learn about the principles of script writing. On this basis, the participants will have the chance to affect the movie and tv series scene in Yemen with their creative cultural activity.

This audio cultural project aims to develop the skills of Yemeni youth artists on audio documentation. Within the framework of workshops, the young artists have access to the production of audio programs like podcasts which revolutionize the intangible cultural heritage in Yemen.

Within this project, six Yemeni musicians learn about basic academic knowledge and expand and improve their technical skills. During the two months training course the participants get connected and extend the network of Yemeni musicians.
