Cleave: THE ECCO & The Goethe-Institut collaboration programme 2025
About the project:
“Cleave” is an interdisciplinary audio storytelling programme designed to explore creative expression across cultural and artistic boundaries. The retreat took place in Wadi Feynan and gathered participants from Jordan, Germany, Morocco, and Egypt. The programme combined creative, technical, and conceptual approaches to audio storytelling, including writing, recording, editing, and critical listening. Participants engaged in both structured workshops and informal exchanges, drawing inspiration from the natural environment and shared experiences. Through this immersive process, the project encouraged participants to blur the lines between journalism and art, fostering deep intercultural dialogue and collaboration. The resulting works will be further developed and presented internationally, including at Podfest Cairo in May 2026.
Goal of the project:
- To support experimental and interdisciplinary approaches to audio storytelling
- To strengthen participants’ narrative and technical skills
