Coordination Cultural Programme
at the Goethe-Institut Amman

We are seeking a dedicated colleague to coordinate our cultural programming in Jordan, starting April 1, 2026, or at the earliest possible date.
The Goethe-Institut is the Federal Republic of Germany’s globally active cultural institute. We promote the German language abroad and foster international cultural cooperation.

We are seeking a dedicated colleague to coordinate our cultural programming in Jordan, starting April 1, 2026, or at the earliest possible date.
The Goethe-Institut is the Federal Republic of Germany’s globally active cultural institute. We promote the German language abroad and foster international cultural cooperation.
The main responsibilities include
- Co-conceptualization, planning, execution, follow-up, and evaluation of cultural events and programmes
- Administrative and financial implementation of projects, e.g., drafting contracts, determining prices, awarding contracts, procurement, preparing payment documentation, processing payments, contributing to budget planning, liquidity management, budget management, and reporting · Press and public relations for cultural events (including website and social media, print materials, and public tenders)
- Support for artists and guests of the institute, travel arrangements
- Developing and maintaining the address database, expanding the network, and acquiring partners
Requirements
- A degree in a relevant field or equivalent qualification
- Several years of professional experience in organizing cultural events
- Good knowledge of the current Jordanian cultural scene; knowledge of the German cultural scene is an advantage
- Proven experience in administrative tasks (procurement processes, institutional regulations, contract types, etc.)
- Editorial experience (Arabic, English, or German)
- Affinity for new communication and mediation methods (online tools, social media)
- Good IT skills (MS Office) and willingness to learn other relevant programmes (e.g., the Goethe-Institut's project planning software)
- Knowledge of image and video editing software (Adobe Suite, Canva, CapCut, etc.) preferred
- Excellent English and Arabic skills (spoken and written), German skills preferred
- Experience with different cultural contexts and intercultural competence
- Teamwork skills and reliability
- High level of commitment, flexibility, and resilience
- Conceptual thinking and creativity
- Willingness to work outside of regular business hours and to travel
