By decision of the Executive Board of the Goethe-Institut in October 2023, the language department of the Goethe-Institut Osaka Kyoto will close at the end of September 2024.
We would like to thank you all for the great support we have received from you since the opening of the institute on 11 May 1964. At the same time, we would like to apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
From October 2024, you will have the opportunity to continue learning in our well accepted online German courses from the comfort of your own home. These can still be booked via the Goethe-Institut Tokyo webshop.
“Goethe-Zertifikat” examinations will continue to be offered in the Kansai area and will be organized also by the Goethe-Institut Tokyo. Detailed information will be available in the coming weeks.
With the Villa Kamogawa, the Goethe-Institut will also maintain its presence in Kansai: artists live and work in Kyoto as residents of the Villa Kamogawa. Together with them and its partners in Kansai, the Goethe-Institut Villa Kamogawa organizes and supports events from Kyoto and provides up-to-date information on cultural, social and political life in Germany.
