This year, the Villa Kamogawa will once again open its doors for the “Night Library.” We invite you to spend a special spring evening in the library — an experience that feels a little different from everyday life.
18:00–18:45: Children’s Workshop
“Art as Adventure”
Vol. 1: Painting with 〇〇 – The World of “Mono-e”
What do you usually use when you draw? Pencils, crayons, or brushes… but that’s not all! A spoon, a candy box, or even a toy car can become wonderful “tools.” “roll roll,” “pop!” or “swoosh” — move the tools across the paper and see what shapes appear. What would you like to try next? Welcome to the wondrous world of “Mono-e”!
For: Children (approx. 3 years and older) with their parents or guardians
Capacity: approx. 20 children
Registration: Online form or to: info-villa-kamogawa@goethe.de
Provided on-site: Shared tools and small toy cars

17:00–19:00: Check-in for Stuffed Animals
At Villa Kamogawa — house to artists from around the world — your stuffed animal will go on an overnight adventure. When all visitors have left and the artists are asleep, what will your stuffed friend discover? The next day, you can see photos on social media capturing its little adventures!!
For: Children (approx. 3–12 years) and their parents or guardians
Capacity: approx. 20 children
Pick-up of stuffed friends: Saturday, April 25, 15:00–17:30
Registration: Online form
17:00-21:00: Evening Opening
You are welcome to relax on the mats or enjoy reading in a calm atmosphere.
The lights will be dimmed from time to time. Feel free to bring your own sleeping bag or a flashlight.
If the weather is nice, the garden will also be open.
Board games will be available for families and friends to enjoy together.
You may bring your own snacks and non-alcoholic drinks.

- “Things” you think might be fun to paint with. (Please avoid bringing valuable items — paint may not come off completely even after washing.)

- The photos of the stuffed animals taken during the sleepover may be displayed on the walls of the library and on the Villa Kamogawa social media accounts.
