Set in Yeongwol, a region renowned for its natural beauty and cultural richness, the DongGang International Photo Festival returns in 2025 with a special focus: the20th anniversary of the DongGang Museum of Photography, Korea’s first public museum dedicated to photography.

This year’s festival features twelve exhibitions, along with a range of educational and accompanying programs. TheDongGang Award-Winners Exhibition highlights the work of Korean photographer Seoungwon Won, showcasing pieces from various phases of her career.

The Main International Exhibition, themed Museum Project, explores the museum’s two-decade journey and brings together collections from two major institutions: the George Eastman Museum (USA), the world’s first photography museum, and the historic Alinari Collection (Italy), dating back to 1852. The exhibition also features notable works by Thomas Struth’s Audiences, Elliott Erwitt’s Museum Watching, and Bohnchang Koo’s Vessel series.

The exhibition runs from July 11 to September 28, with the opening ceremony scheduled for July 18 at 7 PM. More information can be found on the official website of the DongGang International Photo Festival.
