Self-expression & Self-care through Music

We have consistently hosted various successful monthly workshops as part of the ongoing "Program of Care 2.0" workshop series. Our upcoming workshop is titled "Self-expression & Self-care through Music", which seeks to delve into the field of music therapy.

But what is music therapy?
Music therapy is an allied health profession, clinical and evidence-based use of music interventions. Music therapists use music-based interventions to address the needs following nonmusical goals such as Physical, emotional/psychological, spiritual, social, and cognitive for improving the quality of life.

What do we do in this workshop?
We will compose, movement to Music, Singing and Listening to music, playing instruments under the supervision of a music therapist. This workshop is not to focus on musical goals but to use music to express your emotions and incorporate music into daily activities for your well-being. (Remark: The workshop will be held in Myanmar language.)

German Language Courses

Start learning the German language systematically at the Goethe-Institut Myanmar! Our German language courses are based on the six levels defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Our courses are thereby internationally recognized and comparable. Goethe-Institut Myanmar is offering online and offline German language courses in September. Registration is open from 31.8.2023 to 15.9.2023. “STORYTELLING” SESSION

Welcome to the Children & Youth Program at the library! Get ready for our upcoming "Storytelling" session! This session is a special time just for kids aged 4 to 8. You will learn to tell remarkable stories, talk confidently, and take everyone on a journey to unique places with your words. This "Storytelling" session will be led by Ma Kyi Nue Mya, the founder of wee care Children and Youth Development Center. We will have much fun together, creating characters, places, and feelings in our stories.

German storybooks and short stories are a big favourite among our German language learners and are always on top of the list of most borrowed media from our library. Therefore, we are happy to announce that our library has received new children’s books, picture books, and several youth novels this month! 

Just pick your favourite one up and have fun reading!
