DOSICINÉ Events on March 8 and 13, 2024

Join Us for two engaging talk events with Dolsiciné at the Goethe-Institut Myanmar!

DOSICINÉ is a platform that aims to encourage, strengthen, and refine the quality of dossiers by filmmakers and producers from Myanmar. Dosiciné works closely with international film professionals from the Southeast Asia Region with the goal of connecting Burmese filmmakers to Southeast Asia cinema.

1. Women Filmmakers, Women’s Stories
Date: 8 March 2024
Time: 4 PM – 6:30 PM
Location: Goethe-Institut Myanmar Auditorium

Despite the underrepresentation of Burmese women filmmakers in Myanmar, young women filmmakers are working hard to tell their stories to the world. Although reaching international audiences is still challenging, they remain committed to their beliefs. In this upcoming talk, five young Burmese women filmmakers will offer insights into their filmmaking experiences and share their visions. Audiences will have the opportunity to learn about their creative process, character development, the films that inspire them, the type of women characters they aim to create, and their overall vision for their films.

2. Dossier To Lab
Date: 13 March 2024
Time: 4 PM – 6:30 PM
Location: Goethe-Institut Myanmar Auditorium

During this talk, filmmakers and producers from Myanmar who are alumni of the Purin Short Film Camp will share their project experiences. They'll discuss how their vision has evolved since being selected for the camp and the changes they've made afterward. They will emphasize how important the film dossiers are to get into the labs/markets and funding with their experiences.
