Creative Encounters and Experimentations with Feminist Tendencies (A Multi-Disciplinary Workshop)

Goethe-Institut Myanmar continuously emphasizes the importance of women's roles, voices, and contributions in all cultural programs, workshops, discussions, and various initiatives.

In alignment with International Women’s Day on March 8, Goethe-Institut Myanmar will also host programs to commemorate this day, as in previous years. This year, the entire month of March will be designated as IWD Week, with a series of weekly programs organized in collaboration with different partner organizations.

As the opening program, Goethe-Institut Myanmar, in partnership with the Purple Feminist group and Maung Day—a poet, writer, and performance artist—will host a workshop blending literature and performance art in a multi-disciplinary approach. An open call for participation and further program details will soon be announced on Goethe-Institut Myanmar’s social media channels.

In support of amplifying women’s voices and contributions, we are excited to share updates about IWD 2025 programs. Stay tuned to our social media platforms for more information!

AoC Cohort 2 Seed Funding Projects Updates

The Academy of Care (AoC) proudly highlights four impactful projects initiated by Cohort 2 participants and supported through its seed funding initiative. By utilizing creative therapeutic approaches, including art, music, and drama therapy techniques, these projects addressed critical needs across Myanmar, delivering deeper and more meaningful impact.

Educators, community members, and youth leaders in Taunggyi were equipped with tools to build emotional resilience, strengthen community connections, and improve intergenerational relationships. Youth leaders in Yangon learned to use music as a tool for emotional expression and stress relief, while Chin youth in Yangon found healing spaces to navigate significant mental health challenges. Caregivers at a nursing home in Bago benefited from techniques to manage stress and burnout, helping them maintain their mental well-being in demanding roles.

We are proud of these achievements and extend our heartfelt congratulations to the dedicated project teams from Cohort 2 for their outstanding efforts in creating meaningful, community-centered mental well-being and resilience.
