Curious Academy

Open Studio Event by Curious Academy Myanmar

Curious Academy Myanmar, a collaborative program by the Goethe-Institut Myanmar and the School of Contemporary Art (SoCA), has been running a series of lectures, workshops, and practice-based activities from December 2025 to February 2026, bringing together 18 emerging artists to experiment, learn, and exchange ideas.

On 6 March, the participants will present their research themes and experimental works in an open studio format. Further details and the full program will be shared soon on Goethe-Institut Myanmar’s social media channels.

Presenting Present Grounds: A Grant for Artistic and Cultural Expression

Following the Present Grounds grant awarded in May 2025, eight Myanmar artists and collectives based in Myanmar have completed the development of their new artistic works exploring research, knowledge, and creative responses connected with local communities.

The exhibition will take place at the Goethe-Institut Myanmar auditorium in late March and early April 2026. More details, including the opening date and program, will be shared soon—stay tuned!

Training To Become A Teacher Of German As A Foreign Language (M/F/D)

To expand our language course offerings, the Goethe-Institut Myanmar is currently seeking Myanmar university graduates who are interested in training to become teachers of German as a foreign language – for teaching German courses and conducting exams in Yangon and Mandalay.

Family Punch Needle Workshop

Looking to trade screen time for some quality “we” time? Join our upcoming Family Punch Needle Workshop! This special session is designed for families to create and connect. Kids aged 7+ are welcome to join with one parent or guardian.

Punch needling is like coloring with thread. It helps kids focus, encourages creativity, and gives them a great sense of achievement when they finish their fluffy artwork. For adults, it is a relaxing moment to slow down, chat, and enjoy a meaningful activity with the little ones. You can be the fun and cheerful grown up who brings good energy to the day.

Punch needles are incredibly beginner-friendly. If you can hold a pen, you can do this! We’ll all the yarn, hoops, and tools. You just bring your enthusiasm.

NOTE: Due to limited space, we can only accommodate one guardian per one child.

Suitable for learners at A2–B1 level, the game supports vocabulary development and reinforces key language structures.
