Six young people from each of Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Myanmar, the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh can take part in dareCon!. Do you want to be part of the Malaysian team? Then you´ll find all information about the application and the selection process here.

Application criteria for students

  • You are currently learning German in form 4 at your school?
  • Do you have a passport that allows you to travel to Thailand?
  • Are you ready to travel to Bangkok with 5 other young people from Malaysia and an accompanying teacher and have you gotten permission from your parents?
  • Do you care about democracy, human rights and environmental protection and do you have ideas on how to improve the world?
  • Are you interested in storytelling on Instagram, Snapchat & YouTube? Are you passionate about new technologies?
  • Would like to meet other young people from Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Myanmar, the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh at dareCon! from 20 - 23 August 2020 in Bangkok to represent Malaysia and share your digital, technical or creative expertise in a short talk, workshop, etc.?
Wonderful! Then you are a perfect fit for Malaysia's dareCon! team.

Application and selection process

You can apply from 23 March to 15 May 2020. At the end of May we will let you know if your application was successful. 

Pease note: We are closely monitoring the situation caused by the novel coronavirus (COVID19). At this stage we are planning to go ahead as we cannot predict how the situation will develop until August. We still encourage you to apply and we will keep you updated! Please follow dareCon! on instagram or facebook.

Please be assured that the security of all participants will be of the utmost importance to us, should we be able to go ahead. That is why we regularly monitor and evaluate the situation here in Malaysia and with our partners in Bangkok. If you have any concerns about your application for dareCon! please feel free to contact us.
