Jumoke Adeyanju

An evening on exploring the “third space” by un-othering hybrid diaspora identity

16/16

As part of her Arthouse Foundation and Goethe-Institut Nigeria residency exchange, the artist Jumoke Adeyanju will present her artwork before she will leave Lagos.

{{{}}} Third Space(d) Out! {{{}}} combines live-painting, live-writing, music and  dance as art forms to illustrate the many stages and dimensions of diasporic nostalgia, postcolonial transformative healing and reviving lost memories when growing out of/growing up in Nigeria.
This unique exhibition invites artists and guests into a journey to the in-between of reciprocal memories (namely the diasporic and the native) colliding in Lagos.
"We yearn to collectively invent empowering spaces out of spaces condemned as marginal, parallelgesellschaft and inferior.

With Chika Jones (Live-Writer), Aàdesokan (Live-Painter), Wana Udobang (Live-Writer), Jack Mensah (Beatmaker), Yadichinma (Voice-Over Artist), Chikamara (Panelist)
