We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Project Coordinator to join the Mishkal project, "Perform, Produce, Design: Reviving Cultural Heritage, Artistic Expression, and Creative Industries." Based at the Goethe-Institut in Ramallah, this role will play a pivotal part in promoting the project’s mission to foster a sustainable creative economy and strengthen cultural identity in Palestine.

As the Project Coordinator for the "Produce, Perform, Design", you will play a pivotal role in facilitating the seamless implementation of the project objectives. Working closely with the project manager, your primary responsibility will be to orchestrate the operational aspects of the initiative, ensuring that all components align with the overarching goal of promoting a sustainable creative economy and cultural identity in Palestine.

  

The project “Produce, Perform, Design” aim is to contribute to the promotion of a more sustainable creative economy and common cultural identity that supports diverse artistic and cultural expressions and heritage. The program will leverage Palestine’s rich cultural heritage and cultural creative sector to drive economic and social revitalization in an increasingly fragmented and fragile society. Its specific objective is to support Palestinian cultural entrepreneurs, independent creatives, cultural agents, and artists including in more marginalized areas, to build artistic production capacity, networks, collaborate and develop markets.

The programme is composed of three major arts and cultural results areas: (a) Site-Specific Performance Festival and (b) Arts Residency Programme in cultural heritage sites, and (c) Palestinian Design Month. These interventions will help partnerships, exchanges, and exhibitions, in particular with Europe, to grow, supporting and extending Palestinian’s cultural identity and cultural heritage reputation, as well as enabling women and young cultural actors to have opportunities to grow their practice, professionalize, and capture new showcasing, networking, or economic opportunities. Working with Palestinian and European partners and sponsors, the programme will support the visibility and preservation of tangible and intangible cultural heritage (such as historic sites, crafts, and storytelling amongst other practices), diverse artistic and cultural expressions, and cultural creative industries (CCIs) especially in the design sector.
 

• Ensures project documentation is in order and in line with the policies and procedures of the European Union and Goethe-Institut
• Follow up and coordination with the Goethe-Institut Ramallah’s program department team which acts as focal point for budget controlling and communication with the donor organization.
• Develops a project schedule and action plan in line with the project manager and coordinates the strategic implementation.
• Prepares contracts, for the team, freelancers, audio stations and other service providers as required.
• Prepares supporting materials for meetings.
• Prepares narrative and financial reports in line with the requirements, policies, and procedures of the of the European Union and Goethe-Institut
• Is responsible for the internal bookkeeping and administrative bookings in the internal PPS-system.
• Prepares all necessary documents for sub-granting.
• Documentation and collection of data in accordance with the Goethe-Institut monitoring and evaluation system
• Prepares weekly and monthly status updates to the program manager.
• Maintains contact with the existing partner network as well as network expansion and communication with relevant cultural scenes, especially in Germany/Europe and the Palestinian Territories
• Translation of project documents and publications, when relevant
• Maintains close contact with communications team of the Goethe-Institut of social media presence and regular updates on social media channels, ensuring the implementation of a visibility and communication strategy of the project.
• Coordinates travel planning, including hotel and flight bookings, among others.
• Coordination and maintenance of the calendar
• Research work, creation of texts as well as content-related conceptions.
• Internal and external communication and correspondence
• Other tasks in agreement with the project manager and the director of the Goethe-Institut in Ramallah
• Act as the assistant of the Project manager and or Institute director.
• Undertaking any other tasks aligned with the project's overall mission and objectives.

• University degree in cultural studies, arts administration, project management, or a related field.
• Demonstrable understanding of project implementation and coordination, with previous experience working on large scale donor-funded cultural projects
• Excellent verbal and writing communication skills in Arabic and English; German skills are an asset.
• Proven experience (3+ years) in project coordination, preferably in the cultural or development sector.
• Strong understanding of Palestinian cultural heritage, artistic practices, and creative industries.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a multicultural environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), as well as familiarity with collaborative platforms such as Trello or Asana
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Willing to travel within Palestine, the MENA region, Germany and within Europe

• Holds Palestinian or Jerusalem ID or permanent residency in Palestine.

• If not the full range of expected requirements are met the salary can vary from the indicated salary
• Palestinian work permit required.
