In the year that the government begins to implement the National Media Literacy Plan, we ask: what, exactly, is media literacy? How can we think about this issue beyond the loop of fake news and fact-checking, and in a way that reaches all segments of the population? If illiteracy was once one of the great challenges facing the population, today it is knowing how to read, interpret, and be critical of the content we consume. These challenges have no boundaries, nor are they exclusive to one generation. Nor do they concern only readers. It is urgent to think about them, but above all, it is urgent to act.

A panel discussion held in partnership with Creative Europe Portugal, featuring Alba Tobella (Verificat), Margarida Maneta (Lusófona University, CICANT), and Marta G. Franco (Laintersección), moderated by Carolina Franco (Público na Escola).
