Claudia Lucas Chéu is a poet, playwright, fiction writer, and screenwriter. As a writer, she has devoted herself mainly to poetry and drama. Her résumé includes nineteen publications under various imprints (in addition to theater and poetry, poetic prose, short stories, novels, and essays). Her published works include the plays Glória ou Como Penélope Morreu de Tédio (2011), A Cabeça Muda (2014), and Veneno (2015). Her play Orlando - Tratado sobre a Dignidade Humana (2022) is part of the National Reading Plan. She published her first novel in 2018, Aqueles Que Vão Morrer. In 2021, Confissão was a semifinalist in the poetry category of the Oceanos Prize. More recently, in 2023, she published the essay A Angústia da Rapariga Antes da Faca and, in 2024, the poetry book Escrevo por Vingança a Morte . She writes regularly for newspapers and magazines (Expresso, Público, Comunidade Cultura e Arte). She is a professor at the University of Évora.
