In a context marked by technological acceleration, journalism is undergoing a profound transformation: new digital tools, new formats, and new audiences are reshaping the way information is produced, distributed, and consumed on a daily basis. By 2025, newsrooms will be hybrid spaces where algorithms, artificial intelligence, and digital platforms coexist with traditional practices, raising increasingly complex ethical, professional, and social issues.

This masterclass aims to offer an inside look at the workings of a university newsroom — Rádio Ria, a project that celebrates its first year of activity in September. Based on this practical experience, we will discuss the challenges of content production in an ecosystem marked by the precariousness of the sector and the fragmentation of audiences. How is a newsroom organized today? What skills are required in these new times? What role can a university radio station play in the critical training of future professionals and in promoting a more pluralistic, participatory journalism that is aligned with the public interest?
