XPOSED @ Goethe-Institut Taipei Queer Short Films from Germany
On October 15, the Goethe-Institut Taipei, in collaboration with the XPOSED Queer Film Festival Berlin, will present six queer and feminist short films from Germany!
From tender summer romances and intimate bedroom encounters to playful video essays and personal documentaries, these films trace how individual stories intersect with larger histories. Confronting border regimes and racialized gazes, exposing misogynist media and transphobic bureaucracies, this film program shifts perspectives on our daily lives and struggles.
Following the screening of six short films, a hybrid discussion and Q&A will take place with filmmakers Ahmed Awadalla, João Carvalho, and Franzis Kabisch, who will join online in conversation with curator Merle Groneweg, moderating on site at the Goethe-Institut Taipei. The talk will also actively engage with the audience present, creating space for exchange around the films, their creative processes, and the evolving landscape of queer and feminist cinema in diverse cultural contexts.
The film program is curated by Merle Groneweg from XPOSED Queer Film Festival Berlin.
Date: October 15, 2025
