Germany as your country of choice

On 1 June 2025, the workshop “Boosting Strategic Internationalisation in a Changing World – Germany as your country of choice” welcomed around 50 university representatives in the southern region of Vietnam. Through the input of German experts and a panel discussion, the event provided valuable insights into approaching internationalisation more strategically and highlighted Germany’s continued commitment to fostering academic and scientific partnerships with Vietnam. A key milestone was the signing ceremony between DAAD and the Goethe-Institut, symbolising DAAD’s official return to HCMC after a three-year absence. Once a month, a DAAD representative will be based in the city for one week at the branches of the Goethe-Institut, offering its familiar services: individual consultation on studying and researching in Germany, information on scholarship programmes and alumni activities, and support in fostering institutional cooperation between Vietnamese and German universities.
With its renewed presence and strengthened collaborations, DAAD reinforces its position as a trusted partner for Vietnamese institutions in higher education and research.
