Fungi is a Hanoi-born and Germany-raised photographer, performance artist, martial artist and poet. She studied literature at the University of Potsdam and photography at Lette Verein Berlin (Germany). Since 2014, she has international group and solo exhibitions with her visual art, while her poetry became equally important in her projects. Her photographic works revolve around topics like identity, migration, belonging and home. Fungi’s pictures convey feelings of stillness, a powerful softness and her longings. Her photographs are sometimes accompanied by poems and short prose texts like anecdotes.
In 2024, Fungi received the ada dance studio residency together with her choreographer and fellow performance artist Dasniya Sommer. She’s a multiple gold and silver medalist in international Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitions. In October 2024, she became a Para Jiu Jitsu world champion at the JJIF BJJ world championships.
