Goethe-Institut Hanoi and Vietnam National Academy of Music Hanoi jointly present this classical concert with the well-known conductor Gudni Emilsson as a highlight event celebrating 20 Years Goethe-Institut in Hanoi.
 
In joint rehearsals, Gudni Emilsson and the Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra have developed a classical program with pieces by Mozart and Beethoven. Thus the Goethe Institute continues its collaboration with the Academy of Music, which has become a habit for both sides. The concert promotes exchange with the Vietnamese students and experts. The genre of music provides an excellent opportunity for cultural cooperation and cooperation. For the Music Academy, the collaboration with Gudni Emilsson is a musical enrichment because such guest performances illustrate s different approaches to musical interpretation across cultural boundaries.

Gudni Emilsson

born in Reykjavik, studied piano and conducting in Trossingen (Germany) and took master classes and workshops with Walter Hügler and Sergiu Celibidache. Gudni Emilsson has worked with many orchestras all over the world and is presently Chief Conducter of the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra Bangkok and the Orchestra Camerata Bohemica Prague. In addition, he has been regular guest at different festivals and won national and international prizes for conducting.

 

Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra

is one of the best Vietnamese orchestras. It consists of professors, lecturers and excellent students of the Vietnam National Academy of Music. The orchestra annually performs programs under the baton of foreign guest conductors and went on tours to the great concert halls of the world such as the Concert Hall in Tokyo or the Moscow Maly Theatre.
