Every Body in Motion: Inclusive Theatre and Performing Arts Festival is the result of an ongoing exploration of inclusive arts and the participation of people with disabilities in theatre and performing arts practices. Diverse in both form and approach, the selected works will be presented to audiences from 20 to 25 October.
The programme has been curated and arranged as a journey of discovery: beginning with dreams of a joyful and enchanted world, carrying hopes for the endurance of human values; moving through questions and tensions born from experiences of separation and disconnection; pausing quietly at a crossroads for reflection; and eventually confronting the experience of being lost and searching for one's way.
The Hope Choir belongs to the stage of this journey represented by songs that carry hope for the enduring power of human values and the spirit of living together.
This year marks the 22nd anniversary of The Hope Choir. Under the leadership of Professor Tôn Thất Triêm, the choir has not only performed widely but, above all, has shared hope, faith in human values, and connections between people. When looking at some of the most significant examples of inclusive artistic practice in Vietnam, it is impossible not to think of The Hope Choir and Professor Tôn Thất Triêm.
Opening Every Body in Motion: Inclusive Theatre and Performing Arts Festival, The Hope Choir brings with it the beliefs and values that have resonated through its voices over the years. Their performance serves as an invitation to pause, reflect, and revisit those values that, for The Hope Choir, will never lose their relevance.
