Three journalists from Slovakia and three journalists from Portugal were selected to participate in the CLAD project. The Portuguese will go to Slovakia and the Slovak to Portugal to work on their projects on the topic of disinformation. The journalists and their projects are now introduced.

The topic of Russian disinformation will be covered by Izabella Kuzárová. In her work, she will compare the techniques used by Russia to spread disinformation in Slovakia and the Czech Republic with those used in Portugal. By exploring how propaganda adapts to cultural and media environments in different countries she will dive into how Russian disinformation influences the public.

Barbora Paľovčíková will analyse the use of disinformation by far-right parties to manipulate the younger generation on platforms like TikTok. She will compare Portuguese and Slovak parties in their statements on the European Union, migration, the war in Ukraine, etc.

The third journalist from Slovakia, Eva Štefanková, will focus on disinformation related to gender. Disinformation on this topic is often spread by various institutions. She will focus on a broad topic including LGBTQ+ and disinformation about women.

On the Portuguese side, Joana Ascensão will also be researching the LGBTQ+ community in Slovakia and the impact of the current political situation, as many hate crimes have recently occurred in Slovakia. She will later compare this with Portugal and the rest of Europe. Her project will focus more on the political side and less on the impact of the church.

Another Portuguese Journalist, Sofia Craveiro, will produce a report on the impact of disinformation on political institutions, as there was a rise in the spread of false information. She will use Slovakia and Portugal as examples, and interview experts in both countries.

The last journalist is Ana Patrícia Silva who plans to research how disinformation and polarisation on the internet have a concrete impact on cities, for example on the issue of affordable housing in Bratislava and Lisbon. She will investigate how online interventions affect cities.
