KINO! Film Salon: Toni Erdmann
KINO! Film Salon is a monthly online film club to discuss German film.
How it works: Each month we choose a German film or series currently available to stream, watch it independently, and come together for a hosted conversation with other fans of German film.
Next up: Toni Erdmann by Maren Ade, which is available to stream in the U.S. on platforms including Mubi and Prime Video
In this audacious twist on the screwball comedy, an aging-hippie prankster father visits his corporate-ladder-climbing daughter in an attempt to rekindle their relationship. Toni Erdmann delivers art and entertainment in equal measure, with sublime performances by Sandra Hüller and Peter Simonischek, who leave the audience suspended between laughter and tears.
Hosted by Sydney Levine

She has taught international film business at universities including UCLA, Chapman, The New School of Social Research, and the University of Television and Film Munich, as well as at festivals including the Cannes Producers Workshop, and Berlinale Talents.
