Trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kinshasa and at Cepromad in Lubumbashi, he is both a multidisciplinary visual artist and cultural manager. His field of expression encompasses sculpture, painting, drawing and multimedia installations, which he conceives of as languages for questioning contemporary society.

His works are part of a social, economic and politico-cultural analysis. By revisiting the visual memories of the past, he questions the territory in its present form, and opens up a space for dialogue on human and physical mobility. Through this approach, he hopes to contribute to the emergence of a more open and universal future.

In his practice, Olivier draws inspiration from observing the environment and everyday objects. He diverts these objects from their primary function to breathe new life into them and integrate them into his creative process. Satellite dishes thus become canvases, valuable surfaces on which a visual diffusion of reality is articulated through parabolic waves. Thanks to these objects, carriers of memory and signal, he has developed a unique technique and a universal artistic vision.

At the same time, he works with industrial waste from Gécamines which, to him, is ‘black gold’. These materials, sourced from the depths of the Earth, become a foundation for authentic expression, immortalising the human emotions he transposes onto various media: antennas, flexible pipes, fabrics, canvases, murals and bags.

Through his creations, Olivier Fall Masey questions history and his living environment, while revealing the intimate links between the wealth of the subsoil, industry and contemporary society. His art stands as a bridge between memory and the future, matter and spirit, the intimate and the universal, affirming his place among Congolese artists who explore the tensions between mining heritage, everyday life and contemporary creation.
