Social Currencies

What do you need, what do you have to offer? The answers to these questions define the dynamics of a social currency and interrupt the habitual relationships of the market as we know it; a market that seduces, sells and incites consumption.

Money as a social convention and its market are largely based on trust. In 2019, Muda created an economic system with its own social currency, with the aim of a culture of regeneration. The platform grew from a few hundred to almost 4,000 members in a short amount of time during the pandemic. Now it does not want to continue growing, but rather regain self-confidence in its own success.

Based on the experiences collected over the past years, Muda was organising a series of encounters, online and offline, all about the issues of trust and care.
