Studio Quantum Lagos
The Goethe-Institut Lagos is located in the heart of Victoria Island Lagos. A part of the pumping heart of the Lagos technology and creative scene, where we are renowned as a leading cultural centre in the conversation surrounding technology, culture and film.
Our learning programs are technologically enabled, and we are well connected to various art, culture and technological organizations and players. Our programs have made tremendous impact towards the integration of disparate traditional indigenous art and cultural expressions with the aid of technology.
Besides “Studio Quantum”, we are also implementing a sister project “Dreaming New Worlds”, here in Lagos. This cross-genre project facilitates capacity building and is designed to inspire creative technologists in the country. The project invites artists, researchers, art/culture historians, writers, and creative technologists across different artistic disciplines etc. to reflect on forms the future might take, the meaning and social implications of emerging technology and role of Nigerian history and creativity in shaping this landscape.
The artists in residence coming to Lagos as part of the “Studio Quantum” programme will benefit from the partnerships and activities of the “Dreaming New Worlds” projects as well. The resident artist will be hosted by "AWCA, A Whitespace Creative Agency", an agency based in Lagos, Nigeria. Here, the artist will be provided creative strategy and culture consultancy with unique 360 solutions. They will partake in panel sessions, and networking events with leading creative technologists' historians and organizations while drawing inspiration from the deep history and culture of Nigeria.
