Mija Ničajutė

Mija Ničajutė is a screenwriting student from Vilnius, Lithuania. Coming from a background in cinema and film festivals, she tells stories through images and sound. Mija focuses on small, personal narratives that reflect bigger themes, exploring how small moments can reveal deeper meanings. During her internship at the newsroom NARA, she is working on a short documentary about Druskininkai, one of the oldest balneological spa towns in Lithuania. The project delves into the city’s collective memory, uncovering how layers of architecture hold the echoes of its past and the city’s shifting identity.

Architectural memory of the resort

Druskininkai is the oldest resort in Lithuania. The city’s rich history has constantly changed and shaped the architectural face of the resort, which today is altered and full of compromises. However, different periods of the city’s architecture live on in people’s memories.
