Soccer Film Series

Just in time to get into the mood for the FIFA World Cup 2026 in North America this summer, we are presenting — together with the German Film Office — a soccer film series for teachers, available either for private streaming use or for classroom screenings, including teaching materials.

The films tell stories about the empowering and unifying power of soccer: from inspiring stories about team spirit from the perspectives of migrants (“Too Far Away,” “Winners”), to documentaries about women and LGBTQ+ people who are paving the way for greater inclusion in sports (“We Wanted More – The Miracle of Taipei,” “The Last Taboo”), to a charming look at the dedication of a neurodivergent fan (“Weekend Rebels”). The selection showcases soccer enthusiasts of all kinds who find solidarity and resilience both on and off the field.

For private streaming use

The film series “Breaking Lines” is available for free on Goethe on Demand until July 31, 2026.

For school screenings
