Our Collection
Our regional film archive comprises over 550 film titles in digital and DVD formats, in their original versions with various subtitles, including German and English. Our collection reflects the history of German cinema, from Expressionist films to contemporary German productions. We lend these films free of charge to film archives, film clubs, film festivals, and cultural and educational institutions for non-commercial screenings. You are only responsible for covering return shipping. Individuals cannot borrow films.

Rental Terms and Conditions
Regulations and Rights
Film rentals are intended exclusively for non-commercial screenings. Duplicating or copying a film is prohibited. Unauthorized film screenings may result in criminal prosecution. To protect the rights of the authors, the films must be screened in their entirety and may not be altered. Screening rights may not be transferred to third parties.
Dates and Deadlines
Please order the films as early as possible. Please return DVDs immediately after your screening.
Damage
Borrowers are liable for any damage they cause; costs for repairs or restoration may be billed to them. General Information
The Goethe-Institut reserves the right to deny future film loans to borrowers in the event of non-compliance with the loan terms and conditions. The Goethe-Institut is not liable if deadlines or reservations cannot be met due to the fault of third parties. The Goethe-Institut requests that it be mentioned on all promotional materials for film programs featuring copies provided by the Goethe-Institut. (The Goethe-Institut logo can be sent upon request.)

Our online catalog includes a brief synopsis of all our films, as well as detailed information on their thematic, stylistic, and historical contexts. The texts are written by established film critics and may be used free of charge for program announcements. All texts are available in German, English, and Spanish.
