Ulf Stolterfoht , is a German writer. He was born on June 8, 1963 in Stuttgart and now lives in Berlin.

After pursuing community service, Ulf Stolterfoht went on to study German Studies and Linguistics in Bochum und Tübingen.

Stolterfoht writes language-critical poetry and essays which have been published in many anthologies (e.g. Der Große Conrady) and literary magazines. His first publication was the poetry volume "fachsprachen I-IX" ('specialist languages I-IX') which appeared in 1998 published by the editor Urs Engeler. His translation of Gertrude Steins’ "Winning His Way" was published in 2005. From 2008 to 2009, he was a guest professor in the German Literary Institute in Leipzig. He is the member of the German Academy for Language and Poetry in Darmstadt. Winner of the Peter-Huchel-Prize 2008 for "Wood smoke over Heslach’ , Ulf Stolterfoht operates ‘Brueterich Press’, a small publishing house, which he established in 2015.
