Director: Robert Mulligan
Drama, USA, 1962, 129 min.

Set in the early 1930s, in the fictional town of Maycomb in Alabama, lawyer Atticus Finch finds himself agreeing to defend Afroamerican farm worker Tom Robinson who is accused of raping a white woman. Many of the townspeople try to get Atticus to pull out of the trial, but he decides to go ahead. How will the trial turn out, and will it alternate the racial attitudes in the racially-divided Maycomb?

The story is told from the perspective of Finch's seven-year-old daughter Louise "Scout". She refuses to wear a dress to school, beats with boys at school and, together with her brother Jem and her boyfriend Dill, follows the social activities that cause her father such a headache.

In 1963, “To Kill a Mockingbird” received three Oscars and is considered one of the most important films of all times.
