Goethe MobiArts 2024
Unter der Koordination des Goethe-Instituts Yaoundé und des Goethe-Instituts Abidjan wird jeder Künstler zwischen August und November 2024 vier Auftritte in vier verschiedenen Ländern haben.
THE ARTISTS
ANETH SILVA
Dancer, Angola
Aneth silva is a graduate in Management and production of performing arts from Associação Fórum Dança in Lisbon, Portugal. She is a choreographer, radio host and artistic director and producer of performances and cultural events in different languages. Aneth Silva also focuses on creating innovative and transformative experiences for students, clients, and audiences. Her desire is to provide alternative ways, where spectators and participants can consume art in Angola. Aneth Silva’s Goethe MobiArts tour will take her to Lome on 18.09.2024, Ouagadougou on 21.09.2024, Windhoek on 26.09.2024 and Luanda, her home country on 28.09.2024.

CHECKMATE MIDO
Checkmate Mido is a household name in the music and spoken word scene in Nairobi. Fusing rhyme and rhythms to tell compelling stories through music, his work has been featured on BBC Focus on Africa,
Arts Hour, and Music in Africa. Checkmate has shared the stage with Award winner, The Soil, as well as globally acclaimed hip-hop artist Akua Naru. His critically acclaimed debut album, FRQNCY, was released in 2020 to great reception and reviews. He is a Goethe Talents 2023 Scholarship recipient, after which he completed a well-received East African tour in 2023. He recently completed a US tour as part of the OneBeat 13 Music residency and is set to release his sophomore album, Ua. The Goethe MobiArts Tour will take him to Johannesburg on 31.08.2024, Luanda on 07.09.2024, Yaounde on 13.09.2024 and Nairobi his home country on 25.09.2024.

KEENAN MEYER
Pianist, South Africa
Keenan Meyer is a South African pianist and composer renowned for his captivating performances and innovative compositions. Born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa, Meyer's musical journey began at a young age, when he showed deep interest in music. His natural rhythmic sense and ear for melodies led his parents to enrol him in piano lessons in 2007. As he progressed in his studies, his exceptional talent became increasingly evident. He attended the National School of the Arts, where he won multiple awards, earning recognition for his dedication and unwavering commitment to his craft. His pursuit of excellence led him to enrol at the University of Pretoria, where he studied under the tutelage of acclaimed pianists. Through his performances, he seeks to inspire others, bridge cultural divides, and share the power of music. For his Goethe MobiArts tour, he will start in Johannesburg on 06.09.2024 and later continue to Abidjan on 31.10.2024, Accra on 06.11.2024 and Kigali on 09.11.2024

SKRIIM
Electro musician, Cameroon
SKRIIM is a multidisciplinary artist: an electronic music composer, a sound artist, DJ and producer, whose work essentially revolves around the research, collection, and transformation of organic, unorthodox sounds to create musical novelty in the areas of electronic music and sound art performance. His music is mainly characterized by African rhythms, percussive sounds, ambient drones, and electronic synth sounds. He has found his musical influences in the likes of great African folk artists like Meiway, Sally Nyolo, Richard Bona, and Francis Bebey, as well as international figures in electronic composition include Pierre Henry, Rone Hainbach, Lucrecia Dalt, Hélène Vogelsinger, and PC Nackt. His latest album, titled SHOCK, was released earlier in 2023. SKRIIM is currently composing musical pieces for theatre and contemporary dance artists. For his Goethe MobiArts Tour, SKRIIM will perform in Dar es Salam on 26.10.2024, Nairobi on 30.10.2024, Luanda on 02.11.2024 and finally in Yaounde, his home country on 08.11.2024.
