As part of the Goethe‑Découverte platform, the Goethe‑Institut Kamerun presents « écho de ma terre» a visual arts exhibition by Notue.

Yves Borel Djopnang Notue is a Cameroonian visual artist whose passion for artistic creation began at an early age. After gaining initial experience in artists’ studios in Bafoussam and Bandjoun, he joined the Institute of Fine Arts of the University of Dschang in Foumban in 2020. Notue‘s artistic development has been enriched through collaborations and exchanges with established artists like Jean David Nkot, Jean Michel Dissake, helping him cultivate a multidisciplinary practice that spans painting, sculpture, pictorial sculpture, assemblage, and engraving. Through metal engraving, acrylic painting, and welding, he explores a personal vision of humanity and its complexities.
The Goethe-Découverte 2026 Visual Arts Laureate explores the human being as a fragmented, yet powerful entity endowed with limitless potential. By drawing parallels between human figures and deities, his work examines themes of identity, spirituality, and the many possibilities that define the human experience. Recipient of several distinctions, including the COJES Young Talents Competition, and the UNESCO-supported PDF Project Competition, his work has been featured in several group exhibitions. Through a multidisciplinary practice that combines engraving, painting, sculpture, and assemblage, Notue creates thought-provoking artworks where introspection, creative energy, and universal symbolism converge.

The Goethe-Découverte 2026 Visual Arts Laureate presents « écho de ma terre », an exhibition project that explores the relationship between nature, humanity, and artifice through a perspective rooted in the land. Humanity, born from the earth and destined to return to it, is presented as one of the five forces of nature alongside Water, Wind, Earth, and Fire. These forces continuously interact, shaping and transforming the world around us. Unique among them, human beings possess the ability to perceive, interpret, and transform both natural forces and the materials they provide. Acting as a bridge between nature and artifice, humanity reveals its complexity through three core dimensions: Strength, Fragility, and Resilience
