Concert Series of the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra

Pallas Theatre

The Goethe-Institut Cyprus would like to draw your attention to the following event by the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra on the occasion of the Beethoven anniversary.

Beethoven said: "Symphonies are the best representation of my true self. I always seem to hear within me the sounds of a great orchestra”. Let us discover how these "sounds of a great orchestra" materialize in three great works of the symphonic repertory. Immensely rich in emotional content, Symphony no. 5 transmutes the inevitable blows of fate into hope. Beethoven’s love for nature finds its way into his Sixth symphony that established him as a true Romantic. With its exhilarating dance spirit, the Seventh symphony feels like the most spontaneous of the three.

L. v. Beethoven:
Symphony no. 5 in C minor, op. 67: mvt. 1
Symphony no. 6 in F major, op. 68 (“Pastorale”): mvt. 4
Symphony no. 7 in A major, op. 92: mvt. 4
